Alex Lane studied at the National Circus School in Montréal from 2007 to 2011. During his studies, he attended workshops with Daniel Cyr, inventor of the Cyr wheel and cofounder of Cirque Éloize. He also participated in an intercultural exchange on Cyr wheel at the École Nationale de Bruxelles, and contributed to technical research on acrobatic devices at Cirque du Soleil. Alex has devoted himself to redefining the acrobatic vocabulary of the Cyr wheel. His performance is defined by complex technical sequences and a dramatic atmosphere based on emotional intensity and scenic presence. Alex sees his act as an archetype of fluidity, a symbiosis of pure movement between his body and the wheel. His artistic process was greatly influenced by the actual Contemporary Circus Movement. Alex Lane is also the cofounder of the ReCircle Collective, a project that is a great reflection of his passion for the Cyr wheel.

Alex looks forward to sharing this approach to circus at 9th international circus festival of Budapest.
