Aileen Lawlor from the Vulcan warehouse in Oakland, California will be visiting Rome for a few days! Besides visiting with family she'll be offering Contact Staff workshops, and would love to meet and connect with the spinners from the area! Come out on August 1 & 2 to motivate your staff practice!
Workshop description:
*Contact Staff Dance W/Aileen (1 hour & 15minutes, 15 people maximum)
----The emphasis of Contact Staff Dance is to explore the contact moves we already know with intentional body movement. We'll play with about 8 ideas that will encourage a different way to interact and connect with the staff during our dance. This can be for all levels, although it's designed for people who are trying to access more style, freedom, and continuity in their spinning.
*Aileen's Beg/Int Contact Staff (1 hour & 15minutes, 15 people maximum)
----Begin the journey of contact staff by learning the fundamental moves in this class. After a brief warm-up we’ll drill hand/elbow/neck wraps, contact weaves, palm spins, and conveyor belts. We’ll explore tips on transitioning between these moves, which will prepare us for more advanced moves later on.
*Aileen's Int/Advanced Contact Staff (1hr 15min, 15 peops max)
----After stretching our muscles, we will continue on the path of contact staff by placing emphasis on SNES's, Steve rolls, body rolls, matrix drills, and launching contact moves from varied body locks.
